Most of our readers have memories of their own of urban leisure icons, which defined the cities they grew up in. Such is the power of buildings and spaces that constitute urban leisure. While most of these landmarks cannot claim any fame due to their architectural merit, they are nevertheless anchors of the city we grew up in. They shine like beacons around which the streets of the city were laid out. Together, they represented what we would today call elements of Urban Leisure.
