Cities are living organisms. They grow and increase in size, but they also decline and die. Sometimes the growth is expected, and sometimes it is sudden. Cities have a character of their own. A city could be quiet and restful, or busy and hectic. It could be polluted by traffic or be green and restive. It could be on a flat river basin, or on a hilly slope. A city could be warm and sweaty, or cold and windy. Each city has a personality dependent on the climate where it is located, the history it has gone through, the culture of its citizens and the actions its inhabitants have subjected it to. Its citizens evolve, they amalgamate and project a personality that is uniquely its own. Each city has its story to tell. But is anyone listening?
